Kraton Receives Best Paper Award at the
Adhesive and Sealants Council’s
2005 Fall Convention and Expo

HOUSTON, TX – October 17, 2005 - Kraton Polymers LLC (Kraton) announced today that it received the Best Paper Award for its paper “High Performance Styrenic Block Copolymers Featuring a Novel Hybrid Midblock Phase”, which was presented during the Adhesives and Sealants Council 2005 Fall Expo. This prestigious award was given to the Kraton team of authors which included Dr. Donn Dubois, who also presented the paper, Ir. Martine Dupont and Dr. Noël De Keyzer.

The paper covered Kraton’s recent development of a new family of styrenic block copolymers that features a hybrid elastomer composition that combines a controlled distribution of isoprene and butadiene monomer units into the mid-block.

This new concept has the potential to expand the use of styrenic block-copolymers in a variety of hot melt adhesives applications such as pressure sensitive tapes, labels and non-woven construction.

“This outstanding paper demonstrates Kraton’s long-standing commitment to innovation” said Kevin M. Fogarty, Executive Vice President. “At Kraton we are continually looking for enhanced products and applications to better serve our customers’ growth needs - one more example of our leadership in this industry.”

The paper will be published in an upcoming issue of the ASI magazine, the adhesive industry leading publication and is posted on the Kraton website.
